Hey guys! Today I’m excited to talk to you about something that has been immensely powerful in my life and that is the use of positive affirmations. I have often suffered from low-esteem and anxiety. In my early 20’s this manifested physically as I used food for emotional comfort.
When I decided to have a healthier lifestyle in addition to eating more clean and exercising I also began to read affirmations to myself. I would argue that this has had the longest lasting and most impactful habit of the three because it helped change my mindset.
An affirmation is anything you repeatedly think or speak positive or negative. All internal dialogue and self talk can be considered an affirmation. Oftentimes we speak very negatively to ourselves but if you can harness the power of positive affirmation you can transform negative thoughts and beliefs to positive ones.
I recommend taking a few moments to repeat positive affirmations to yourself or out loud in the mirror. You can makeup your own or find some online. I also love using an affirmation card deck and then focusing on repeating that over and over throughout the day. With this daily practice I have gained peace, confidence, and a more positive outlook on life.
